Nyoki Sacramento, JD Title IX Officer, Director of OPHD
Ms. Sacramento is a San Francisco native, and a 2005 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). Prior to joining UCSF, Ms. Sacramento worked as an attorney at several of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the United States, including Morrison & Foerster LLP; Littler Mendelson P.C.; and Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart P.C. While at these firms, Ms. Sacramento represented and counseled clients in all areas of employment law, conducted workplace investigations, and litigated numerous high-stakes cases in federal and state courts.
Ms. Sacramento had been serving as Interim Director for the prior academic year. In her role as Director, Ms. Sacramento will report diectly to and work closely with Renee Navarro, MD, PharmD, Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Outreach. Ms. Sacramento’s responsibilities will include producing federally mandated staff and academic employee affirmative action plans in collaboration with Human Resources and Academic Personnel, and overseeing the University’s response to complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under the UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy and the UC Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action Policy.
She will continue to oversee faculty, staff, and student discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims; work collaboratively campus partners and administratve and academic units on affirmative-action related initiatives, education and training programs, and compliance activities; and remain as UCSF’s liaison on harassment and discrimination issues to the UC Office of the President Title IX Officer, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) , the U.S. Department of Labor/Office of Federal Compliance Programs (OFCCP), the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR), and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH).
Ms. Sacramento is the proud mother of six children, ranging in age from four to eighteen. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, family, and friends, and catching up on episodes of Game of Thrones.
