Equal Opportunity - Complaint Resolution

Prompt and equitable complaint resolution is an important component of ensuring equal opportunity and nondiscrimination. Any person who believes he or she has been subjected to discrimination, including harassment and retaliation, on the basis of a protected category2 may file a complaint with the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD). OPHD will assist with informal resolution and/or provide information regarding options, including early resolution, formal investigation and grievances according to UCSF General Complaint and Resolution Procedures or Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policies and Procedures.
2 Protected categories include race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender expression, gender identity, gender transition status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), genetic information (including family medical history), ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship, or service in the uniformed services, including protected verterans.
